International Propolis Research Group (IPRG) Conference 28th 29th 30th May 2027.
The International Propolis Research Group (IPRG) invites researchers, clinicians, healthcare professionals, beekeepers, industry representatives, policymakers, and community practitioners to submit abstracts for presentation at the IPRG Conference 2027.
This conference will provide a unique international forum to share the latest scientific discoveries, clinical evidence, practical applications, and sustainability initiatives relating to propolis and the honeybee. We welcome original research, case studies, reviews, and innovative projects that contribute to advancing knowledge and application in this important field.
Themes for Abstract Submission
Abstracts are invited under the following themes:

- Chemical composition and characterisation of propolis

Abstract Submission and Presentation Guidelines
We welcome submissions from researchers, clinicians, academics and other professionals working in the field of propolis and related areas. Abstracts should present original work clearly and concisely and should enable the Scientific Committee to understand the purpose, approach and significance of the research.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
- Word limit: Abstracts should be no more than 300 words.
- Language: All abstracts must be submitted in English.
- Title: The title should be concise and accurately reflect the content of the research.
- Authors and affiliations: Please ensure that all authors, affiliations and contact details are entered correctly at the time of submission.
- Content: Abstracts should clearly describe the research and its significance. Where appropriate, they should include:
- Background or introduction – the context and rationale for the work.
- Objectives – the main aims or research questions.
- Methods – a brief description of the approach, materials or methods used.
- Results – the principal findings, including relevant data where appropriate.
- Conclusions – the main conclusions and their significance or potential applications.
- Clarity and relevance: Abstracts should be written clearly for an international scientific audience and should make the importance and relevance of the work apparent.
- Originality: Submissions should present original research, significant new findings, innovative applications or important developments relating to propolis.
- Presentation format: Authors should indicate whether they wish to be considered for an oral presentation or a poster presentation. The final presentation format will be determined by the Conference Scientific Committee.
Abstract Review and Acceptance
All submitted abstracts will undergo a peer-review process conducted by the Conference Scientific Committee.
- Each abstract will be assessed for its scientific quality, originality, relevance and suitability for presentation at the conference.
- Authors will be notified of the outcome of the review by an official Letter of Acceptance.
- The Letter of Acceptance will confirm whether the abstract has been accepted and, where applicable, the presentation format.
- Authors whose abstracts are accepted will then receive further instructions concerning their presentation and the submission of the accompanying audio-visual recording.
Audio-Visual Presentation Guidelines
This year final acceptance of abstracts is dependent on submission of a 15-minute video of your presentation to facilitate a more effective hybrid conference. (See Final Acceptance section below for more details.)
- 15-minute presentation: The recording should be no longer than 15 minutes.
- Purpose: The recording should provide a clear and engaging presentation of the accepted research and should complement the submitted abstract.
- Content: Presentations should normally cover the background and objectives of the research, methodology, principal findings and conclusions or implications.
- Presentation style: Authors are encouraged to present their work in a clear, professional and engaging manner. Slides, figures, graphs, photographs, video footage and other appropriate visual material may be used to support the presentation.
- Technical requirements: Detailed instructions concerning the recording format, file size, submission method and deadline will be provided to accepted authors by the Conference Scientific Committee.
Final acceptance: All submissions that have been granted provisional acceptance are guaranteed final acceptance on receipt of the accompanying 15-minute audio-visual presentation, provided that the recording meets the submission requirements. We will also require a headshot photograph for inclusion in a video to accompany the conference.
Confidentiality Prior to the Conference
The IPRG recognises the importance of protecting unpublished research prior to its official presentation. All submitted presentation recordings will therefore be treated as strictly confidential before the conference.
- Recordings will be used solely for conference preparation and programme organisation prior to the event.
- Recordings will not be published, distributed or made publicly available online before the conference.
- Access to recordings will be restricted to the conference organisers and authorised members of the Scientific Committee or reviewers involved in preparing the conference programme.
- The organisers are committed to ensuring that unpublished research is not disclosed publicly before its scheduled presentation at the conference.
Poster Presentation Guidelines
A poster provides a visual and accessible way of presenting research and is designed to encourage direct discussion between authors and delegates. Rather than delivering a formal presentation, authors use the poster to communicate the key elements of their research and then discuss the work with interested participants.

- Poster size: Posters must be prepared in A0 format.
- Content: Posters should normally include:
- Title
- Authors and affiliations
- Background or rationale
- Objectives
- Methods
- Key results and findings
- Conclusions and implications
- Relevant references, acknowledgements or contact details where appropriate
- Visual presentation: Keep text concise and use figures, graphs, photographs and diagrams where these help communicate the research clearly.
- Exhibition: Posters will be displayed throughout the symposium, allowing delegates to view them throughout the conference.
- Poster sessions: Dedicated poster sessions will take place during the coffee breaks, providing opportunities for authors to meet delegates, explain their research and discuss their findings.
- Author participation: Authors are encouraged to be available at their posters during the designated poster sessions. These informal discussions are an important part of the conference and provide opportunities for scientific exchange and collaboration.
- Printing and mounting: Poster authors are solely responsible for printing and placing their posters at the conference.
- Poster allocation: Authors will be given an alphanumeric poster allocation. Posters should be placed in the corresponding position according to the instructions provided by the organisers.
- Audio-visual presentation: Accepted poster authors will also be invited to provide the accompanying 15-minute audio-visual presentation as part of the final acceptance process.
Oral Presentation Guidelines
Oral presentations provide an opportunity to present research directly to the conference audience and to discuss findings with fellow researchers and delegates.

- Presentation time: Oral presentations are allotted 10 minutes each.
- Focus: Presentations should concentrate on the most important aspects of the research and avoid attempting to cover unnecessary detail.
- Suggested structure: A clear presentation will normally include the background and objectives, methodology, key results and conclusions or implications.
- Discussion: Questions and discussion will take place after all presentations in the session have been completed, allowing delegates to consider the research presented across the session as a whole.
- Audio-visual presentation: Authors whose abstracts are accepted for oral presentation will also be required to submit the 15-minute pre-recorded audio-visual presentation described above.
Post-Conference Educational Archive
The IPRG is committed to making high-quality scientific knowledge accessible to the wider international propolis research community.
- Following the conclusion of the conference, accepted presentation recordings may become part of the International Propolis Research Group (IPRG) educational archive.
- The archive will support education, scientific collaboration and future research in the field of propolis.
- By submitting an audio-visual presentation, authors grant the conference organisers permission to archive and make the recording available after the conference for non-commercial educational and scientific purposes.
- Authors retain full intellectual ownership and copyright of their work.
- The archive is intended to promote the responsible dissemination of scientific knowledge while recognising and respecting the rights of researchers and authors.
- The organisers will take appropriate steps to ensure that material is not made publicly available before the conference in a manner that could compromise the presentation or prior publication of unpublished research.
The IPRG is committed to providing a professional international forum in which researchers can share new findings, exchange ideas and develop collaborations, while maintaining high standards of scientific integrity and respect for authors’ intellectual property.
