Pioneering New Paradigms
Welcome to what will be a groundbreaking IPRG conference on 28th 29th and 30th of May 2027.
The Propolis: Defender of the City conference will focus on showing how global propolis research now plays a significant role in Pioneering New Paradigms for natural health and for medicine itself. The conference will bring together researchers, practitioners, environmentalists and entrepreneurs working with these new models.
Abstract Deadline
Abstract Submissions are now open.
The conference theme “Defender of the City”, is encouraging researchers working with propolis across all disciplines. Submissions are especially welcomed from clinicians, researchers investigating antimicrobial resistance, and those exploring the role of propolis in supporting, protecting, and restoring the now frail and failing human immune system. We also welcome researchers addressing the critical sustainability challenges facing the honeybee. The conference will provide an international forum to share research, exchange ideas, build collaborations, and help shape the future of propolis research and honeybee health.
The Bankova Young Researcher Award
The 2027 Conference will once again offer the prestigious Bankova Award for the best abstract submitted by a young researcher aged 35 or under. Presented ahead of the conference, the Award includes travel to and from the event, together with conference accommodation. It honours the pioneering contributions of Professor Vassya Bankova of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, whose groundbreaking research into the chemistry of propolis has spanned more than 40 years.
From Romans to the Merchant Adventurers
Our conference theme – Defender of the City – is a perfect fit for the Historic City of York. The Romans founded the walled city of Eboracum in AD71-72, and Constantine was declared Roman Emperor within the city walls in AD 306 on the site now occupied by the majestic York Minster.
The conference will meet in the famous Medieval Guildhall in York, home to the Craft Guilds, themselves pioneers of mutual support, shared responsibility, and self-government.
EarlyBird Registration
The conference will bring together propolis researchers and practitioners from every continent. As places are limited by the capacity of the Guildhall, early registration is strongly recommended. Registration includes the full three-day conference, together with the Celebration of the Honeybee Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony. Early registration gives you peace of mind by securing your place.
